Pearl Global has announced a $3.5 million investment program to develop its technology and unlock further value from the raw products derived from its tyre recycling process.
The funding sources include a $1.3 million cash grant by the Australian Government’s Australian Research Council, $830,000 of in-kind contributions from the universities of Western Australia, Curtin and Newcastle, and cash and in-kind contributions totalling $1.37 million from Pearl Global.
Pearl Global Executive Chairman Gary Foster said the funding demonstrated the Australian research community’s support for Pearl Global’s unique tyre processing technology.
“We are the only company using thermal desorption – the cleanest tyre processing technology in the world,” he said.
“This program will help us use the technology to convert tyres into valuable, saleable products while operating in a low emission environment with no hazardous by-products.”
